Sandy Colombo is a specialist communications and creative leadership facilitator, as well as a professional business coach, with extensive national and international experience. Sandy’s skill lies in her ability to work alongside key stakeholders to empower their people to take responsibility for improvement, to act decisively and to risk being the best.

Sandy’s career path is anchored in education working with Box Hill Institute, Swinburne University and Victoria University teaching a range of programs to both mature age students and tertiary students. She also taught the Advanced Diploma of Tourism and Hospitality at William Angliss. Sandy worked with North Melbourne Institute of TAFE (NMIT) on a job pathways program for 14-16 year old students at high risk of leaving school. This was a government funded program which encouraged students to stay within the education system while teaching them life skills like resume writing, job applications and job search strategies.

Also with NMIT Sandy took on a volunteer role within an industry mentor program for students looking for a pathway into their first position. The program helped students identify a suitable career path and secure their ideal job within the industry. With her qualifications in Tourism, in 2003 Sandy took on the role of International Manager for Trekset Tours which saw her turn the business around, it was 70k in the red when she started and, and eventually was purchased for 15 million dollars ten years later by a multi-national travel company called Worldstride. During those ten years Sandy learnt how to create, build and run a successful wholesale travel company which specialised in educational travel, she also learned how to upscale a business. Throughout her time with the organisation Sandy’s role was varied, with her hands-on approach she learned all aspects of running the business which included: trouble-shooting, overseeing sales, hiring staff, staff training, leading teams, budgets and forecasts for the business, negotiating with International operators and suppliers and maintaining and finding a high standard of products. Management of all aspects of sales, marketing and operation within a travel wholesale company. Sandy was responsible for top clients, the sales team, operations and training, and running information sessions to large client groups and understanding and meeting clients’ expectations.

Sandy was also a buyer for International product and attended Tourism Trade Shows Internationally as a guest of both Tourism Bodies and International Chamber of Commerce. Sandy expanded her own education gaining qualifications in NLP and Coaching. Since establishing her consultancy in 2011 Sandy has evolved to become an engaging speaker, author of two books, a sales expert and a leadership development specialist. Sandy is unique, as she is a natural leader, has the business building experience (Corporate Management), with the coaching qualifications. Sandy continues to work within the Tourism arena providing coaching and consulting services. She has developed a sales program μSimply Sales’ and also leadership and management development programs which she facilitates across various industries. Sandy believes quality of work is linked with the quality of the working relationships reflected through an organisation. She utilises an interactive style of delivery with flexibility to respond to the needs of individuals and organisations.

Sandy’s focus is to enable people to achieve their desired outcomes through developing self-awareness and understanding practical tools they can easily utilise in the workplace and their personal life. Sandy has a huge online following as a coach, leader and business builder she is often sought for her strategic thinking. Sandy is highly regarded as a keynote speaker as well a flexible and skilled facilitator who can work acrossdiverse audiences. Sandy is always re-innovating her programs to solve the pinpoint for her clients, her programs range from short workshops on resilience in the workplace to large scale organisational cultural change projects. Sandy has recently been invited to run a workshop for SME in Cebu Philippines for a responsible outsourcing company, which will entail how to build business and upscale easily while being congruent with your values and mindful of your mental energy. Sandy continues to add value to youth programs with her mentoring at TIME (Travel Industry Mentoring) and pro bono coaching executives at Lighthouse Foundation (Homeless Youth Programs).
